Bear Park Herne Bay is a purpose built centre centrally located on Shelly Beach Road. The centre has been designed to use as much natural light as possible, creating a transparent and open environment. We cater for children from 3 months to 5 years, with different teaching spaces for the infants / toddlers and the preschoolers. These age appropriate teaching spaces each one offering educational experiences and explorative opportunities.

With a location central to the CBD and easy access from the northern motorway and the surrounding suburbs (Ponsonby, St Mary's Bay, Westmere, Grey Lynn), the centre is accessible to people both working and living in the central city and nearby areas. A separate atelier (art space) inside the centre, allows all children to extend their creativity and develop their ability to express themselves using a wide range of mediums.

The centre has a large outdoor play area split into two to allow the infants and toddlers their own play space. As well as the planting of native trees, the playground features a sensory walkway, sandpits, climbing and play equipment on soft fall matting and bark. Shade sails provide sun protection and allow for maximum use of the environment. We are licensed for a maximum of 45 children, 20 under Two's and 25 over Two's.
